Table Service Dinner at Hollywood Studios
Table Service restaurants are far better suited for what most people would think of for dinner. These restaurants require reservations and you’ll be waited on by a server for the entirety of your meal. The costs are higher than the quick service places, but the service, the experience and food choices are nicer.
The Hollywood Brown Derby
- Location: Hollywood Boulevard
- Fine/Signature Dining
- Reservations Strongly Recommended
- $35 – $60 per person
- American Cuisine
The Hollywood Brown Derby is the most ideal restaurant for dinnertime in Hollywood Studios if you’re looking for a fine dining location for a nice date night or to celebrate a special occasion. The decor is styled after the original Brown Derby in Hollywood, CA and features caricatures of many different celebrities on the wall.
The overall atmosphere is refined but approachable and the menu reflects more of the same. While the meal options are totally comprised of American Cuisine with a few Californian twists, each of the options are presented beautifully and cooked to perfection.
This is definitely the most expensive dinner in Hollywood Studios, so reserve the Hollywood Brown Derby for special moments. However, there is a pretty decent range of prices which we’ll address below.
If you’re looking to go all out with your dinner, start with the Charcuterie Board accompanied by house-made pickles and Spanish tortas. Order a glass of wine from their featured California wines list and go for the Filet Mignon for your entree. Finish up with their Brown Derby original Grapefruit Cake for dessert.
For those looking to spend a little less at the Hollywood Brown Derby, try the Brown Derby Signature Burger served with Russian Dressing, bacon and cheddar and a side of fries.
If you weren’t able to get reservations, take an open seat at the Hollywood Brown Derby bar, order a drink and choose a meal from their limited dinner menu. You also have the option to purchase the Fantasmic! Dining Package for $65 per person, which includes your meal and VIP seating at the show.
The Brown Derby is a must on our guide to Hollywood Studios for Adults and in our general guide to The Best Disney World Restaurants for Adults.
50’s Prime Time Cafe
- Location: Echo Lake
- Unique/Themed Dining
- Reservations Recommended
- $15 – $35 per person
- American Diner
50’s Prime Time Cafe is a very good casual option that the entire family will enjoy. From the throwback decor to the fun wait staff and homemade dishes, this is the perfect restaurant for any occasion. After checking in for your reservation, you’ll step into a living room completely decked out in 1950’s furniture, wallpaper and tv’s playing old shows.
The Tune-in Lounge is located in this waiting area, decorated with old tv’s across the back of the bar for you to watch while seated. If you didn’t book reservations, you can take an open seat at the bar and order from the full dinner menu.
If you got reservations, you’ll be led from the lounge into the main dining area which is broken up into several different rooms decorated like an old family home – complete with kids’ trophies, family photos and other 1950’s paraphernalia along the walls.
The wait staff plays into the whole family act by making you feel like one of them – to the point that you may be asked to fold the dinner napkins, set the table and clean your plate before you can order dessert. It’s fun for kids and adults if you’re in the mood for this kind of humor.
The menu is full of delicious comfort food and is presented in a family “pot luck” fashion with each dish created by a different family member. Choose from items like Mom’s Old Fashioned Pot Roast, Cousin Megan’s Traditional Meatloaf and Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken.
Desserts are a must-do at 50’s Prime Time Cafe. We suggest trying the Traditional Warm Apple Crisp, and peanut butter lovers should choose Dad’s Favorite Chocolate Peanut-Butter Layered Cake. They also have a selection of hand-spun milk shakes that are great for sharing.
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
- Location: Commissary Lane
- Unique/Themed Dining
- Reservations Strongly Recommended
- $15 – $35 per person
- American Cuisine
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater takes the best of drive-in movie theaters and traditional restaurants and sandwiches them together. We love that this dining experience is extremely unique from start to finish. It’s also important to note that Sci-Fi Dine-in is ideal for smaller parties of 2 – 4 people; more on that below.
First, you’ll be escorted to your table, which is located in an indoor drive-in movie theater lot. The table itself is a parked car stationed in front of a giant movie screen and seats up to 4 people. If you have more than that in your party, you’ll likely be separated into multiple cars.
For the entire meal, you’ll get to watch old tv shows, cartoons, commercials and film clips from the 1950’s. It’s quite entertaining for those who remember these from childhood or for those who’ve never seen flicks like this before.
The menu is made up of pretty traditional American Cuisine like burgers, sandwiches and fried chicken. Any of the burgers are our #1 meal choice at Sci-Fi, but if you’re looking for more variety, take a look at their salads, soups or pastas.
The dessert list includes their own House-made Sci-Fit Candy Bar, built with cookies and cream mousse, chocolate ganache and chocolate sauce. Also give the Warm Glazed Doughnut or their Hot Fudge Sundae a try.
Hollywood & Vine
- Location: Echo Lake
- Buffet/Family-style Dining
- Reservations Strongly Recommended
- $35 – $65 per person
- American Cuisine
Hollywood & Vine is Hollywood Studios’ only character dining option with a chance to meet Mickey, Minnie and friends. It’s a great place to guarantee meeting characters without waiting in line during the day, but the dinner buffet isn’t the best quality food you’ll get in the park.
This restaurant is great for families with kids, as each character on hand will visit every table for photo-ops and signatures. The theme will change seasonally, so depending on when you go you could catch Minnie in her Springtime outfit or Goofy in his Halloween Costume.
The dinner buffet will have rotating items according to the season, but for the most part you can expect to find salads, soups, breads, carved meats, seasonal fish, vegetables, chicken and shrimp. They also have a dessert bar with various sweets and a self-serve ice cream station.
Parents will be pleased to know that in addition to the regular coffees, teas and juices available to drink, they also have cocktails, wine and other alcoholic beverages available for adults.
Hollywood & Vine is also one of the dining locations that offers the Fantasmic! Dining Package, where you’ll get your dinner and VIP seating at the show for $63 per adult and $41 per child under age 12.
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano
- Location: Grand Avenue
- Casual Dining
- Reservations Recommended
- $15 – $35 per person
- Italian Cuisine
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante is a fairly standard Italian dining experience that you’d expect from a park like Hollywood Studios. It’s casual and great for small or large parties, especially if you’re in the mood for something other than the typical American cuisine you’ll find throughout the park.
The theme isn’t extremely exciting but the food quality is very consistent. Here you can choose from a selection of typical Italian meals like Mama’s Italian Pasta, Spaghetti and Meatballs and Chicken alla Parmigiana. We recommend trying the Crispy Calamari for your appetizer and finishing with the Gelato.
There’s also a Kid’s Create-Your-Own menu that children will appreciate, and a wide variety of cocktails and wines for parents to enjoy.
Mama Melrose’s is the third on our list for the Fantasmic! Dining Package. This one will cost only $43 per adult or $18 per child under age 12 and includes your dinner and VIP seating at the Fantasmic! show. It’s definitely worth it, especially if you’re choosing between the Dessert Party or the Dining Package (go with the dining package!)
Oga’s Cantina
- Location: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
- Lounge
- Reservations Strongly Recommended
- $15 – $35 per person
- Unique, Multi-cultural inspiration
Oga’s Cantina is the iconic Star Wars bar recreated in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge to satisfy die-hard and casual fans alike. It’s got a fun atmosphere with DJ R3X spinning spacey tunes and plenty of sitting and standing room. The menu here is comprised of cocktails and alcoholic beverages, so don’t expect to get a substantial meal here.
Oga’s Cantina is a riotous good time, but not necessarily a good dinner choice. We suggest coming here after dinner, although you will need to make a dining reservation in order to enter it’s doors. The best way to do this is by booking your actual dinner at a place listed above around 6-7pm and then booking Oga’s around 8-9pm.
Quick Service Dinner at Hollywood Studios
Quick Service dining encompasses a variety of eating options – from cafeteria-style dining to walk-up counters with no nearby seating. You’re definitely in for a more casual experience than you would be at the table service restaurants, but it’s much more convenient to eat at the following places if you’re looking to get to other attractions before the park closes.
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo
- Location: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
- Counter Service with Indoor Seating
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- Unique, Multi-cultural inspiration
Docking Bay 7 is probably the best place to get a really delicious quick service dinner without having to book dining reservations. This can be helpful when you’re trying to get ride passes at the end of the day and don’t want your time spent at a sit-down location. The restaurant looks like a Star Wars’ shipping container center and serves unique outer space meals.
With one of the tastiest menus for quick service in Hollywood Studios, there should be an item that will please anyone in your party. We highly recommend the Battuan Beef Pot Roast and the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs. For those going plant-based, try the Felucian Kefta and Hummus.
There’s only a few areas where you can dine inside, so it’s possible you may end up eating on the go.
ABC Commissary
- Location: Commissary Lane
- Counter Service with Outdoor Seating
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
ABC Commissary is very comparable to your average American cafeteria. The foods you’ll find here consist of soups, salads, and sandwiches. This is a great place for a small or large group to reconvene after a long day when you haven’t made a dinner reservation.
The cafeteria hall has a large seating area and anyone can order what they want from the counter and sit indoors or outdoors. Some of the best dinner items on the menu include the Chicken Club Sandwich or the Pork Carnitas Tacos with Steak Fries.
Backlot Express
- Location: Echo Lake
- Counter Service
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
Backlot Express is another good option for a quick meal with lots of variety in the dishes they offer. There isn’t quite as much seating as you’d find in ABC Commissary, but it’s a good place for small or larger parties to get indoor or outdoor seating on the fly (depending on the crowd levels of the park).
Most of the menu contains burgers, sandwiches and chicken dishes, great for adults and children. Some of the best dinner items would be 1/3lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger, the Cuban Sandwich and the Tattoine Two Suns Hummus.
Woody’s Lunch Box
- Location: Toy Story Land
- Counter Service with Outdoor Seating
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- American, Tex-Mex Cuisine
Woody’s Lunch Box may not be one of the first places on your mind when you think of quick service dinner in Hollywood Studios, but we think it should be. It’s got some of the tastiest and most unique choices on the menu that are sure to fill you up at mealtime.
We recommend trying the BBQ Brisket Melt or the Smoked Turkey Sandwich and seating yourself under the lights on the patio. If you’re up to something truly different, give the “Totchos” a try. It’s a delicious combo of chili, cheese, tomatoes and corn chips atop a mess of tater tots.
Fairfax Fare
- Location: Sunset Boulevard
- Counter Service with Shared Outdoor Seating
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
Located on Sunset Boulevard amid several other quick service stands, Fairfax Fare is probably the best counter for getting full dinner meals in this area of the park. You’ll find it right across from the Fantasmic! entrance, so it’s the perfect option to grab and go for the show. It’s got a lot of delicious hot dog meals alongside that are great for carrying along.
If you’re looking for a scrumptiously filling meal, try the Truffle Bacon Macaroni and Cheese or the Pretzel Dog with Parmesan Chips. These are also great for sharing with kids or friends if you’re not extremely hungry.
Rosie’s All-American Cafe
- Location: Sunset Boulevard
- Counter Service with Shared Outdoor Seating
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
Rosie’s All-American Cafe is also located on Sunset Boulevard with a few surrounding quick service stands to choose from – all share the same seating area, so be on the lookout to grab one for you and your party.
Rosie’s truly embodies what most people think of when you say “All-American”; it’s got great burgers, hot dogs and fried chicken. Try Chili-Cheese All Beef Footlong Hot Dog or the 1/3lb Angus Cheeseburger to feel truly patriotic.
Ronto Roasters
- Location: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
- Counter Service with Limited Outdoor Seating
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- Unique Themed Cuisine
Ronto Roasters doesn’t have a huge selection, but what they do have on the menu will knock your socks off. While we wouldn’t necessarily recommend you do dinner here, it is a great counter to get grab-and-go food for heading into the Millennium Falcon or Rise of the Resistance lines before the park closes.
We highly suggest you try the Ronto Wrap made with roasted pork and grilled pork sausage, or the Endorian Chicken Wrap, both presented in a tasty pita bread with chips.
PizzeRizzo
- Location: Grand Avenue
- Counter Service with Indoor Seating
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- Pizza, Italian Cuisine
PizzeRizzo is a tried and true location serving up pizzas from lunch through dinner. It’s got a little more seating than some of the others on this list which bumps it closer to the top in our opinion. If you’re looking for tasty pizza, subs and salads, PizzeRizzo has you and your kids covered, with special menus for parents and children.
Catalina Eddie’s
- Location: Sunset Boulevard
- Counter Service
- Mobile Orders Available
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
Catalina Eddie’s is part of the shared outdoor dining area on Sunset Boulevard. It’s got a few pizza and salad options for those who are in the pizza mood. The good thing about it’s location is that your party can order food from one of many walk-up stands in this area, then come back to sit together.
The main dining options are pizza, salad and breadsticks, so unless you’re in the mood for one of these three items, we suggest you look elsewhere for dinner.
Dockside Diner
- Location: Echo Lake
- Counter Service
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
Dockside Diner is a little walk-up stand with minimal outdoor seating that is usually taken. It’s not the best location for dinner, but if you’re really in the mood for hot dogs and a milk shake in a pinch before standing in line for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, this will hit the spot.
BaseLine Tap House
- Location: Grand Avenue
- Lounge
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
BaseLine Tap House, while one of the best places for small plates with high-quality ingredients, isn’t the most ideal for dinner unless you want to nosh on a few small items with a glass of wine or a craft beer.
We love BaseLine for the Bavarian Pretzel, Spiced Almonds and Cheese & Charcuterie Boards offered inside a cozy, downtown Los Angeles inspired pour house. But if you’re looking for a substantial meal for dinner, we suggest dining elsewhere and coming to BaseLine to hangout after.
KRNR The Rock Station
- Location: Sunset Boulevard
- Counter Service
- $15 and under per person
- American Cuisine
KRNR The Rock Station can be found at the exit of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster serving up Chili Mac and Cheese and an All Beef Hot Dog, along with Frozen Lemonade, Frozen Coke, cookies and chips. This is literally all that this stand serves, so if you’re looking for more variety in your hot dog, hit up Dockside Diner instead.
